Jubbaland Minister honors journalists for forum coverage

KISMAYO, December 23, 2025 (Somalia Tribune) – The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Jubbaland State Government, Abdifitah Mohamed Mukhtar, hosted a special luncheon in honor of nearly 85 journalists from Puntland, Nairobi, and Mogadishu, recognizing their outstanding coverage of the Somalia Future Forum.

During the event, Minister Abdifitah praised the journalists for their professionalism, dedication, and sense of responsibility throughout the conference. He emphasized that the media remains a cornerstone of public awareness, playing a critical role in promoting national unity, development, and informed public dialogue.

The minister reaffirmed the Jubbaland Ministry of Information’s firm commitment to strengthening cooperation with the media and supporting journalists in their mission to deliver accurate, transparent, and reliable information to the public.

The luncheon was also attended by Dr. Koofi Adam and several Jubbaland cabinet ministers, who echoed similar praise for the journalists’ exemplary reporting and their role in ensuring the forum’s objectives reached audiences both locally and internationally.

In his closing remarks, Minister Abdifitah expressed sincere appreciation to all journalists who participated in covering the Somalia Future Forum, encouraging them to uphold professional ethics, enhance their work, and continue serving the public with integrity and commitment.
